We teach the following:
The promises God has made to Israel in the Old Testament still stand despite Israel’s rebellion and rejection of their Messiah. Many aspects of the covenants that God made with Israel in the Old Testament have yet to be fulfilled. These covenants include:
- The Land Covenant. (Gen 13:14-18; 15:1-21; 17:4-8; Deut 30:5)
- The Abrahamic Covenant. (Gen 12:1-3)
- The Davidic Covenant. (2 Sam 7:11b-16; Ps 89:28-37)
- The New Covenant. (Jer 31:31-37)
The promises made to Israel have not been transferred to the church, and the church should therefore not be referred to as ‘the new Israel’, ‘spiritual Israel’, or the ‘Israel of God’. Ultimately the nation of Israel will be saved. (Rom 11:25-32)
